Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
We leave Arusha for Tarangire National Park. This park covering approximately 2600 square kilometers is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland, and oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate again to good grazing areas.
Day 3: Tarangire National Park to Serengeti Central (Cental Seronera)
After breakfast, we proceed to the Central part of Serengeti. This park is well-known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife, particularly the “big five”, named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters: Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffaloes, and Rhinos.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park Central
After breakfast, we will leave for Central Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch and a game drive along the way. Serengeti, among other incredible wildlife and stunning views, is famed for the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundred thousands of zebras, a frenzied bout of territorial conquests and mating happening from July-October. Witness an actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters. The wildebeest produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 miles) pilgrimage begins again.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we will drive to Ngorongoro for the crater tour with a picnic descent to the crater floor for the day tour. Some 20,000 mammals live in the area including about 20 black rhinoceros, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see these amazing creatures. The crater floor also has one of the highest carnivore densities in the world. Lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals are commonly seen, while leopards, servals, and bat-eared foxes may be seen with some luck.
Day 6: Flight to Zanzibar
After breakfast, we head back to Arusha Hotel for lunch. You will then take a flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Zanzibar in the afternoon.
Day 7- 8: Zanzibar Beach
After breakfast, you will go on a guided tour of stone town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience tracing the footsteps of Arab Sultans on Zanzibar and ponder on the interesting historical sites and labyrinths. See actual Zanzibar doors famous for their unique architectural tradition.
After lunch, we will proceed on a tour of the countryside to the spice plantations. This place has a rich history and you will be welcomed by the rich aroma of spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. Afterward, we take you to Nungwi for your 2 nights.
Day 9: Departure
On your last day, enjoy the rest of your stay by relaxing in the pool or in the beach while taking in as much sunshine as you can. In the afternoon, we will take you to the airport for your onward destination.
